Day 3 - My Favorite TV Series
The series follows the life of anti-social, pain killer addict, witty shit and arrogant medical doctor Gregory House with only half a muscle in his right leg. He and his team of medical doctors try to cure very ill ordinary people in the US
So I like medicine and watched Grey’s Anatomy the first couple of times but got bored quickly with the repetitive format and self-important characters. Nowadays there’s usually not that much in the way of mystery shows on (US) TV anymore—cop shows, sure, but mysteries? And while ER is certainly a quality show, I never really cared that much for it either—too much like a daytime soap but with blood. “House,” however, seems a nice combo of medicine, mystery, and character. Hugh Laurie’s Dr. House is someone you feel guilty loving because he’s so arrogant and callous, but he keeps you entertained because you can’t wait to hear what he’ll say next. House loves to tell the truth as he sees it, cutting through the nice happy lies that your average urban US adult tells and believes, never mind the hurt feelings he might leave lying bleeding by the roadside. But of course, his character *may* hide a heart of gold, so in the end he’s trying to do the right thing. Sure, it’s a formula, and House is even a stock character maybe, but it works.

If the creators/writers are smart, they’ll allow a little character development, especially amongst the excellent supporting cast, but not ruin it by changing House or allowing him a romance with either of his female costars. Keep that sexual tension going! For fun, catch Hugh Laurie—who is British by the way—. He plays a complete idiot and is as convincing in that role as he is as the brilliant and misanthropic Dr. House…

Paramore No More?! Josh & Zac rumored leaving the band?

It’s suppose to be my 3rd day of blogging and it’s just about my Favorite TV Show until when i heard the news over the net that Paramore “Farro Brother’s” are leaving the band, i feel sad for the band because they are one of my favorite guitarist and drummer. I idolized them when i first got into the music scene, they’re my influences, the stance, how they pick, rolls, riffs, and how the perform live.

here’s a repost from paramore.net

Over the past 6 years, our band has been through some of the most intense and incredible experiences of our lives. None of these things have been without trial. We’ve worked so hard to get to where we are and the fact that you are all still here with us says something about you that we will never be able to truly understand. You have stuck with us through thick and thin and we are so grateful. A couple of months ago, Josh and Zac let us know they would be leaving the band after our show in Orlando last Sunday. None of us were really shocked. For the last year it hasn’t seemed as if they wanted to be around anymore. We want Josh and Zac to do something that makes them happy and if that isn’t here with us, then we support them finding happiness elsewhere. But we never for a second thought about leaving any of this behind. We really hope that you can be encouraged by the fact that the three of us who are still here are ready to take on another chapter of our journey together. You have always been what keeps us going so why would we stop now? We want to stick by you. Knowing that we have a unified passion and a clear vision makes us feel stronger than ever.

The “blog” that was posted regarding everything that is going on with our band was a fake. We aren’t sure who did it or why… And we aren’t sure how they timed it this way. This is the first time that we have spoken out about what’s going on and we wouldn’t have released an official statement that important through a personal blog. So, we’re sorry for any confusion and just to remain clear, this is the first time we have spoken out about this.

We have some amazing things lined up for next year starting with our tour in South America. We are still coming to you and we are excited about who we are bringing with us! The tour is still on and we can’t wait to see you all.

As we look back, and now as we look with excitement to the future, in all of this what truly matters are the good times. The pictures of us with our arms around each other, the long van rides, your faces while you sing along as we play. Thank you for getting us right here to this very moment. We look forward to our best times. And we hope you will go there with us.

Love,
Hayley, Jeremy & Taylor

Day 2 - Your Favorite Movie

Day 2, 500 Days Of Summer

A Love Story deftly built on unrequited love.

I haven’t seen a romance this touching since I was the same type of single sad sack as depicted by the hero of (500) Days of Summer.

Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) has his radar up for “the girl of his dreams” when he meets Summer (Zooey Deschanel). Too bad for Tom Summer is stuck on friends-with-benefits mode. Let the tension begin.

Director Marc Webb captures the feeling of innocent, naïve love expertly. Anyone who has taken the lyrics of the Smiths too closely to heart, would be moved by the idea of the person they are crushing on sing to them: “To die by your side/is such a heavenly way to die.” No wonder Tom soon falls head over heels for this girl.

As events unfold out of sequence, you know all along Tom has fallen for a time bomb of a woman, and he can’t even see the countdown. When that bomb finally blows up in his face, it unfolds with powerful simplicity— no exposition or dialog, just two juxtaposed events that capture the heartache of reality hitting a person who sees a person through the filter of some deep-seeded emotions that where planted at too young an age.

So many romantic films nowadays concern themselves with cute ideas, take ‘He’s Just Not That Into You’ or ‘Serendipity’ for example. Then there are movies like ‘Knocked Up’ where a pot-smoking, video-gaming playing narcissistic slob tries to turn his life around to try and be a father. These movies forget about real people. Who cares about stock or cartoonish characters in love. The couple in (500) Days of Summer have true chemistry. There are some beautiful, subtle moments of tenderness as well some heart-rending moments of disconnectedness between the two that never comes across as heavy-handed. The movie constantly reminds you that these are two different people with different ideas of a relationship, yet they stubbornly continue their dating, and they remain lovable all the same.

An omniscient narrator sets the film up early on by noting “this is not a love story,” but few films ever capture the sensation of falling in love as well as this movie does.

I Thank Google Dictionary & Translator for this haha! :D
